Look Turkey entered NATO 50 years ago and it is one of the most powerfull country in NATO.It has the 2nd largest army and they are well equipped it has a large air force and a large tank force with plenty of men it has many gunships and some frigates which are for defence Turkey is a peacefull defensive country we have casus belli on north iraq but we still didn't get in there(i think we should ) we are fighting aganist terror for 20 years and we have a very experienced army Our troops are expert at fighting guerilla warfare which made US struggle in Afghanistan and Iraq our troops are trained in every kind of landscape and weather. Turkish troops are among the most succesfull soldiers in NATO's missions +People in Afghanistan likes Turkish troops more than other soldiers They call Turks as their brothers Our army also setted up a radio station which plays Turkish music and Afghans love them the thing i don't get it that North of Afghanistan is full of Turkmens(look at Turkistan's map) but US doesn't want our soldiers to go there-it would be safer and there wouldn't be many problems-WHY DON'T THEY LET US GO THERE?!?! According to my research Turkey's economy is much weaker than any other NATO countries. So I don't think they can afford such quality training, and don't get too excited, Turkey might have hundreds of F-16s but their pilots could still be learners and poory trained like Middle Easterners naturaly are. Just a note for you;) I am going to start to work at international youthwork in June, gonna meet a helluva lot of those loathed Arabs, Turks, Kurds, Somalis whatever problem causing troubled immigrant kids we have... And I am reading the Quran, finally got a good translation which is lyrically interesting... I will keep you informed;)

" Turkish army is WELL trained and TURKISH officers are among the best and thats why we TRAIN other armies all-over the world not just MIDDLE EAST -soldiers!! they are damn well trained because in TURKISH CULTURE and being a soldier is very important and it is sacred to us just like in JAPAN.Well you have no idea about Turkish culture(not a middle eastern culture) training is something like 16-18 months if you are not coming from universty.If you're from universty you make it to higher ranks and time gets shorter(something like 15 months) "Turkish troops might be involved in NATO's peacekeeping mission. I met a Turk at my school Texas A&M his family owned a resort on the Bosphorous-smart kid always got the girlz - I met my first Aussie in a bar in San Jose, drinking and he gave me some darn fishing stories. I guess at the end of the day I would take a sober Turk in an F-16 over a potentially drunk Aussie who probably BS'ed about how many enemy fighters he knocked out in his F-111. PS I am not drunk. But considering ur inibriated nature thats #2 Aussie Drunk I meet.
