Subject: Chechnya terrorist video: has anyone seen the whole video?
Andy from Beaverton    1/4/2002 11:01:15 AM
Over at FreeRepublic.com I saw a lot of traffic over a video taken in Chechnya. I’ll post the link I have to the video, but I guess there is a longer version somewhere. This video is less than 500k. Does anyone know more than what is posted at FreeRepublic? Did the Chechyn serve any time? What was the name of the Russian? Did anyone else see this video while in Russia? Story with references: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/599137/posts?q=1&&page=1 The short movie: http://www.bcsys.com/warning/Movie_0006d77f.IETemp.mov Has anyone seen “The Prisoner on the Mountain”? It is set in today's Chechnya and is said to be based on a Tolstoy story. It this true or is it a real story? Jay and Troll, please go away! This is a serious question and not meant for losers.

>>Look at them, they're animals! With only difference that animals are more civilized... Not at all. They are using classic agit-prop revolutionary tactics. Che Guevara and his buddies wrote books about how to do this sort of thing. Same old. Don't get upset about it. Your reaction should be just as cold and reasoned, with an eye to the international press. No negotiation, just steady pressure and a patient, ruthless slaughter of those responsible. Critical to this is to no associate these gentlemen with the rest of the Chetchyan population - that's an old trick of the Bolsheviks and Maoists, get the opposition to retaliate against the general population so as to aid further guerrilla recruitment. The US has lots of experience, dealing with similar "agents" of your previous Marxist government in Russia. The Israelis have lots of experience to, more than us. We really should all co-operate in surpressing this , and dealing prermanently with those responsible. Putin is ex-KGB, btw. He should have a pretty good handle on what he's dealing with. Don't go knocking the man now, internal dissent is just what the terrorists want.

Putin, with his pretty-eyed face can't handle situation like this, not because he's some kind of screw up. No way. It's just the thing that everything's so corrupt in Russia...here's one little joke about it: "Last week Federation forces got brand-new tank in their squad fighting in Chechnya. The tank was obtained from the chechen rebels, during the local fight, in which rebels were forced to back off leaving their cutting-edge tank on the battle-field:))))". Funny, ain't it. There's no kidding in this joke. Everything's extremely true, and represents situation as it is quite fine. But that's a bit off top.

You don't need high-tech tanks for this. You've got 100 times their population. Parts of that population sample are lots better at this sort of thing than stock Russians, too. Be creative. Use your Armenians. Use Mongols. Stalin managed this particular problem by relocating the Chetchnyans, but this might itself be a bit extreme. Believe it or not, you can even try to recruit Chetchnyans themselves, to help the Russian forces. This is a war of personnel, not tech. Whoever is fighting here needs to have a stake in the place. So, you might think about resettling people into the region - they don't have to be Russians, probably shouldn't be Russians, but that doesn't mean there aren't other viable candidates. How about Uzbeks, Turkmen or Kazakhs? Whatever you do, don't negotiate. For each atrocity, escalate and accelerate. Just remember - whatever violence you use, it has to be against your enemies, not the civilians, or you'll find the problem gets really bad really quickly. And it's already bad enough.

1. Russians cannot "use" Armenians, Mongols, Uzbeks, Turkmens or Kazakhs. All those are independent countries' population. 2. Stalin relocated chechen because they were the only nationality of the USSR besides the Baltic ones who welcomed the fascist invasion. 3. Russia is at war with Chechnya for over 300 years. There was no use for oil in 18 century so it is not the main issue here. Even then chechens were referred as cruel and agressive. Do you wonder why them out of thousands of nationalities living in Caucasus mountains?

There were some Irish men arrested in Columbia. They'd no bomb making training, and were not involved in any Provo ASU for seven years. Their presence in Columbia was political not technical. I dont have complete information, but they may have been heading for the tri-border region. Their trial in Columbia is an utter joke. If that entire country is run like that then I'm not surprised that the Civil war even started. I dont have any respect for FARC. A druggie with two knees has two too many.
