Subject: Is Russia a Natural Choice For Military Aid To Afghanistan?

The Afghans are over exposed to NATO. Russia probably wouldn't be suspected of collusion with Pakistan or China in Afghanistan. The Iranians, the Taliban, the PAK ISI and the Chinese in Afghanistan need to be watched.

Who better than the Russians provided the Afghans can get over past history?

With NATO in a tizzy in the West, Russia might have a freer hand for mischief in South Asia.

Why should Afghanistan be concerned about China?  So far the only complaint that China has is Islamic training camps in North East Afghanistan and Northern Pakistan.  The Chinese currently are negotiating with the Afghan government to develop a number of resource extraction industries, and don't have a problem with paying bribes.

Afghanistan might be concerned about China were to be China the only major power with active interests in Afghanistan.

Hosting both Russia and China in order to avail itself of what each has to offer might be more desirable for Afghans. That way Afghans will be sure to get a enough respect from China in the long run.
