Subject: Amazing Statement. But How Much Is Really True About Putin And Russia?
CJH    4/5/2014 4:31:01 PM
Whose Side Is God on Now?

I agree God has distanced Himself from the West. He has been increasingly backing away from Europe since the "Enlightenment" and from America since the late nineteenth century.

But if Putin is taking up the defense of Christian values, I've been missing a lot that's going on.

Quote -

This speech recalls last December's address where the former KGB chief spoke of Russia as standing against a decadent West:

"Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values. Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan. This is the path to degradation."

Heard any Western leader, say, Barack Obama, talk like that lately?

- End Quote

I would observe that if Putin really wished us ill, he would encourage us in what he instead condemns in the above speech. But I am not at all worried that Western leaders are about to be moved by Putin's criticisms.

For me, despite our exalted opinion of ourselves the US is the most God hating society in history. 55 million dead babies since Roe v Wade justify that opinion. But is Russia substantially any more pure?

Maybe Russia deserves closer scrutiny.

Russia is a nation (Jesus is the seed of Abraham which will save all the nations). America is not a nation. Christ's Church is a body of many denomenations, one for every nation. Which is why the universal Church fails. The Bible was in 80+languages before the Catholics demanded everything be unified through latin in the schism of the 1200s.

What I meant to finish that with is that Russia as a nation is being called by Christ. It is imperfect. But the US is not a nation and will be destroyed because all it is is a government that rules over nations. No other country in the history of the world has been so universal. Every other country is rooted to a nationality. So with these ideas make of them what you will.

What you say seems to be in agreement with what many Bible commentators say. I do not know anyone who is an established Bible teacher who believes the US will remain in existence.

I for one believe that the republic and the constitution are dead and that the rule of law exists in outward form only. God made the US for His purposes and once He has achieved what He set out to do with the US, He will replace it with something else.

On the other hand, many Bible commentators seem to believe Russia will invade Israel on the eve of Christ's return and its army will be annihilated by the angelic host.

My bad. Instead of "angelic host" I should have written "supernatural means". Many believe Our Lord Himself will be these means.

By the "universal Church fails" you must mean that there has never been a single universal denomination but rather many denominations with perhaps slightly different confessions of faith.

I am grateful that there has not yet been a single worldwide established church. Such would oppress the saints and be a manifestation of the spirit of the anti-Christ.
