Subject: Russian Children as Hostages

Whether or not the Chechens have a dispute with Russia, they will never receive support for their cause in the international community by killing innocent children. I hope that there is some way to convey this message to the Chechen leaders. If they do go through with their threat to blow up the school, I hope that Chechnia is our (USA) next Iraq!

It appears to me, however, that the majority of Europeans are willing to knuckle under to the terrorists if sufficiently intimidated. If the Chechen muslims were rational, they might be influenced by a rational argument. Unfortunately, they are religious fanatics that appear only to be influenced by their own interpretation of the Koran. Either that or liberal applications of force. Of course, if the Europeans knuckle under, then it would be logical for the Chechens to continue their current activities, regardless of outside support, since they would be achieving their desired aims. As far as attacking Chechnya, that is a job the Russians will have to handle. Based on the Russians limited support in supporting President Bush's policies, I see no reason to risk American lives fighting a fight they can handle themselves. I have no problem with us exterminating Chechen terrorists found outside of Chechnya, though. Perhaps that will incentivize them to stay home, but I doubt it.
