Subject: Who would win in a war between Greece and Bulgaria??????
Italyguy    1/20/2003 1:56:59 PM
Well I am not sure who would win but I would say Greece would win because of better modernised forces and numerical. On the other hand Bulgaria has fiercly proud people who woul not give up so easily.... Besides Bulgaria is about to join NATO by the way... Also geography might favor Bulgaria or Greece depending on the attacker. So what do you think??? Please state you reasons!!!!

"Bulgaria inflicted Britain's biggest defeat in modern warfare"? Uh-huh, yeah. I presume you mean the Salonika Campaign? Maybe that's what they teach them in Bulgarian High School Patriotic National Myths 101. Two understrength British Corps with no resupply (to the extent that they were almost entirely reliant on volunteer medical aid) committed to a French-led campaign to support an already beaten Serbian Army against the entire German-backed Bulgarian Army on it's home turf. It was hardly Isandlhwana. Hell, MALARIA landed the gut punches in that campaign, not the Bulgarians.

If i had to choose well... if greece is attacking the bulgarians would win, if the bulgarians are attacking the greeks would be defeated oonly to come back somewhere in the mainland but neither 1 can conquare each other fully.

You can not compare the military forces of the 2 countries. Greece would won a war but Greece and Bulgaria will never go to war each other because we got a common enemy ?turkey ?. In 1987 when Greece and turkey was about to fight the Greek foreign minister visit Bulgaria and after that all the Bulgaria army deployed at the Bulgarian ? Turkish borders. That made turkey to relax and the war did not happen. So you can not think that kind of scenarios. Greece and Bulgaria are good friends now and they will not ever fight each other

These days both countries the best they could do is an alliance. They are both in EU they sharing energy and we are partners
The enemy is other one and common...

MORE of this CRAP?

The greatest defeat the British (and the Americans, too, by the way) ever suffered was at the hands of the Japanese, who frankly make any Balkan armed force, past or present, look like a bunch of CLOWNS. That is WORLD HISTORY 101.

I don't know about Bulgaria's economy, but Greece can't even finance a coast guard properly right now. They are awash in a mountain of debt that will take a half century to clear.

Mature nations (the US is NOT one of them, either) brag about their scientific and cultural achievements, not who can beat whom in a silly war. If I were Greek, I'd look around and be proud of my nation's history, contributions to Human civilization, its art, its culture, not my non-existent air force and dubious other toys of war.

Same goes for Bulgaria.

Wish the best for you both, and hope you understand my comment is offered in the spirit of friendship.

Hamilcar.
