i am doing a research project about why the US miitary should be completely redone and refurbished. anybody have any help for me?

You won't find a simple answer. Your topic is extremely complex. A start will be the links and web rings in this website, and keep spreading out from there. When you find the answer, pleaase let us know as well.

Having researched the Revolution on Military affairs for my MBA I can offer the following advice. Read Military Review, Proceedings and any other service publications about the new threats faced and force composition required. Read Toffler et al for the socio/economic background that drives change. If you are looking at the whole US military establishment then you have some task, maybe breakdown the topic and focus on certain aspects. The internet is useful if you know what you're looking for beforehand, google and specialised sites can be of use ie SearchMil.com. Depending on the level of research you can talk to military institutions/colleges I found them more than happy to talk as its such a current topic. Good luck...................Swede
