Can it be lifted by helicopter? Is the frame fragile to recoil? How low is its traverse, how high is its traverse? Find the answers to these questions: a "weakness" is something it can't do or doesn't have. So....

Yes it can be lifted by helicopter, parachuted and air lifted. As well it has a 360 degree traverse with a very sturdy frame and hydo pneumatic recoil. If its Taraget aquisition systems go down the gunners can still fire the old fasioned way... even being towed you would think would be a limitation but if any SP howitzer/Gun runs out of gas/mechanical problems the sp is down... where Towed it can be hooked on to just about any vehical and can still ve highly effective where the SP is limited to its fire. I have not found any information on set up time of the LG1 but I am sure it takes alot longer to get firing rounds down range then a SP Howitzer so that I guess could be one =(

3PPCLI, the LG1 Mk.II is the best 105mm howitzer available, better than the very good Brtish light gun. It is light, durable, and has very good range for the weapon's calibre. The negatives of the LG1 Mk.II are the same as any other towed 105mm gun: the round is less effective than a 155mm round, requires are tranportation system (ie. truck or helicopter), and offers no crew protection.
