Anyone know anything about determining the penetration of the ammuntion for this beast? Ian Hogg & a few others very briefly describe its use vs the Soviet forts at Sevastopol. Any hard data or ideas on this gun or the other large guns, down to 20cm are welcome.

"1. Use the properties window."

Ah, you are assuming I am on a PC.

Actually I originally tried to open the links with a PC.  Tomorrow I'll be back at the coffe shop & will try the properties window on their machine.  Actually this is becoming fun, trying to find the righ buttons to push.  Sort of a little encryption puzzle.

"The actual  complete URL when I type it in either using the HTML editor or when I try to use the  link editor just gives me dead links as the result."

I'm almost always able to just cut & paste a URL.  On many web sites its enough for me just to paste it in & a instant link is created.  No clue how that works.  It just does.

Here tho squirrly things happen.  ie the link I just pasted in wont function either.  I'm inclined to blame the web site program.  In general Strat. Page. is way more buggy than average.  It seems to crash more often.  And, there are a lot of anoying little idyosyncracies.  ie: no edit function for the post one just made.

Fortunantly there are quality people to talk to on this artilery forum, like yourself, so its ok when not frustrating.

Herald1234    Many thanks.   10/6/2006 10:03:13 PM
I appreciate the compliment.

I hope that I continue to learn new things from veteran members such as yourself.

I thought I had found a way to use the text editor to post links.

For example I posted the link above and tested it in preview. It worked, then but as I send this message through I can almost guarantee that the link has a better than even chance of not working.

Here goes nothing.

That of course does not function as a actual link.  But I can here paste it to a 'search or address bar and make it a active address outside of the Strategy Page window.

Flipping back to some old posts I'm finding that links which worked for me months ago do not now.  The same error message is displayed.  Perhaps the new format of Strat.Pg has something to do with this?  Or maybe its a test to screen out the computer illterate who are not worthy?

It appears extra characters are being added to the URLs we are trying to link.  After error message appears I've been picking through the failed URL in the address bar.  That displayed for the link I posted can be made usable with some major editing.   A rather half as,,d way of doing business.
