Subject: Salvation War
Parmenion    6/12/2009 12:58:48 PM
Basically the premise is this - the apocalypse has come- and a being calling itself the God of the Old Testament (though the truth is mysterious) has declared us all evil sinners (even strictly religous people)and declared that we all must submit to the legions of hell who are coming to conquer earth, and an eternity of torture.

That day about 10% of the population of the Earth follows The Message and lies down to die.

The next day every goverment in the world declares war on both heaven and hell.

A week later- Satan sends his heralds- a kraken, some giant dragons and a behemoth- to instill terror into the feeble humans.

The kraken is half defeaned by the sonar of a RN Astute Class sub, before being killed with torpedoes, the three flying heralds are shot down by US F-16's, and the behemoth is engaged and killed by a Russian tank company. The demonic leadership cannot understand how mere humans could kill their heralds- immune to spears and arrows as they are.

Then the war begins.

The battle scenes are great and accurate, the way the US and UK get their economies totally geared to war production is interesting, and the characterisation is one of it's real strengths. Enjoy people!
