Subject: Infantry Division's
USADanny    9/2/2003 2:46:59 PM
After reading the "Where are the Division's as of September 1st" I noticed the 7th and 24th Infantry Divisions are undeployable because they train some other brigades. Why is this and when we engage North Korea will they be available?

7th and 24th are essentially headquarters without combat troops. National Guard brigades are assigned to them temporarily for training prior to deployment. If a contingency emerges its safe to assume they will be training National Guard brigades faster and more furious than they are now, but it's doubtful that they'd deploy. -AJW

The association is not temporary. Seventh Division is the headquarters for three light enhanced brigades -- 39th (Arkansas ARNG), 41st (Oregon ARNG) and 45th (Oklahoma ARNG). Twenty-fourth Division does the same for three heavy brigade -- 30th Mech (NC ARNG), 48th Mech (Georgia ARNG) and 218th Mech (SC ARNG). As for North Korea, I really don't think we'll be at war with then any time soon.
