Subject: Al-Jazeera

Sorry if other folks have started this thread before, but need to ask, would you consider Al-Jazeera to be

A) a virulently anti-US channel that acts as a promotional mouthpiece for the enemy, unashamedly biased in favour the jihadi forces of darkness?

B) a channel that is simply 'giving the other side of the story'?

I've already viewed the Frontpage articles regarding AJ's licensing rights for Canada which support point A. They use the pro-Osama/pro-Saddam editor Abdel Bari-Atwan for his 'professional contribution'- so do Western news agencies. Their brooding focus on Iraq's civilian deaths during OIF would give credence to both A and B. They're OBL's favorite medium for broadcasting the bi-monthly rant.

Anything else to add? Anyway, all British viewers of SP should look out for tonight's documentary "Storyville: the Control Room" on BBC2, 2200-2325 hours.

If option B was correct, I would expect Al-Jazeera to give as much airtime to the beheading videos as it did to the Marine shooting video. Definitely option A.
