Subject: Haigspeak dictionary
PowerPointRanger    4/5/2007 1:40:27 AM
I've long been fascinated with the language of former Secretary of State Alexander Haig.

A man known for prompting people to respond: "Huh?"

A man who would not use one syllable, when five would do.

I thought this might be a good place to collect words and phrases for a Haigspeak-English dictionary. Granted, Haig need not have vocalized all the words. They merely need to follow the spirit of Haig: to use language that no one but the speaker will understand.

Here are a few examples of various words/phrases:

termalogical inexactitude--a lie
antidisestablishmentarianism--oposing a change of government/society
communicate it telephonically--call
collateral damage--unintended damage/casualties
bimbonic eruption--to be caught in an illicit sexual act
truthiness--what one wishes to be true without regard to actual fact

Any other suggestions?
