Subject: Hacktivism is nothing new
Elbandeedo    6/21/2002 9:48:51 AM
There have been 'hacktivists' for some time. One of my personal favorites is a group (who shall remain unnamed) who hack/deface/destroy child porn sites. who's gonna cry? If you rob a drug dealer, does he go to the police?
There have been 'gangs' of hackers around for years. many have their political and/or social agendas. a few even have morals and a sense of 'honor' if you will. If you've spent any time on AOL, you know there is a large community of 'push-button' kiddies who claim to be hackers and have 'toys' built by hackers to use against their fellow AOL users. Some of them apparently are growing up and learning what hacking REALLY is. If we can keep their noses clean, get them into govie service before they do anything stupid or get caught, then focus those skills...
