Batou    V-22's have no muscle   1/18/2015 12:21:11 AM
The over-riding reason the (M)V-22 cannot field a bigger minigun is, well, it wasn't designed for one from the get-go!

In fact, it's an engineering miracle to put up a GAU-2B and I'm absolutely positive that the pilots are not going to like the additional up-front weight.

Fact of matter - the V-22 was designed within such tight perimeters - unlike a Huey or C-47, there's no fat left to trim off - what you see is "really" what you get"!

And the missile arrangement is going to be very very "creative" giving the enormous prop width and limited hardpoints..... not unless.... we are being lead to believe the V-24 is just around the corner...

And the missiles that where tested last time where installed close to the cockpit which has two problems,

(1) The size of the missiles cannot be very large or it upsets the weight distribution

(2) The missile's exhaust can get into the turbo-props intake so those have to be pointed sort of up-wards when firing. They are toying with how far up they have to be pointed but it will likely never be completely horizontal.

Also, a lot of units do not like the belly gun so they do not use it.

For now the Osprey is mostly like a truck that flies.

Backtracking on the crap you claimed earlier, HR? You won't be allowed to get away with it. You remember that you claimed that the Osprey would be able to operate like any other helicopter gunship and I TOLD you it would not..

No one is backtracking... what is happening is that you can read but do not understand. Your mind is like a witches cauldron that is full of bits of information but unable to connect them into a logical sequence. And that is why you say assinine comments like your last one.

Of course... the Osprey is not your worst. Your repeated posts about the LCS are your greatest display of brutality... but the Osprey was not a bad show of your worst in bestiary thinking. You are really in bad shape when it comes to "connecting the dots" on your own.

You are a liar. you claimed hydra rocket pods and mini-guns in forward flight at 110 knots and even published Boeing propaganda that you claimed proved it.

Who can't read? You can't. Who can't remember? You can't.

Who is the liar? You are.

Let it go, troll. You've been whipped on that one, too.

I do not think you have the intellectual weight to understand certain things. Specially as they pertain to strategy.

The last post you butchered on the foreign ships that are the same price as an LCS it is all about political geography. Border states that have an enemy at their doorsteps use certain ships while those that fight them from afar and depend on commerce for their survival use different ones.

And this one on the Osprey was something that I knew all along but did not think your brain could take it...  felt you would slip into overload mode like you just did.
