"The Israelis point out that they did that in Gaza and look how that turned out.".......... this is the key sentence of this article and history lesson of the past years, period. Looking more and more like "war is a coming."

Obama came into office promising to end the two wars in the ME. He now has more wars going on, has lost or is losing key allied ME governments and diminished United States positions world wide. He should rest, if he continues on like this WWIII could start before he leaves office.

Don't forget he did 'earn' the prize before he even made president so he's working very hard to top those efforts.

Peace at any price. Seems like very many leaders before him Obama hasn't paid attention to history and the follies such policy lead to.

There is really not much for Obama to do but to go along with diplomatic motions. The point is not about whether there will be positive diplomatic outcomes. Instead, how should the US plot its moves under real-life limitation imposed by global overextension. Add Israel into an already overstuffed list of US military commitments? Out of the question.

The Obama regime seems to have calculated that Israel has no options alternative to having it's security underwritten by the US and therefore has no choice but to obey the White House.

Perhaps there is no national leader out there who is ambitious of gaining power and prestige at US expense.

1. There is a fail chain that could have been OBVIATED in the past.
a. Kill Malaki back when he refused to play ball. Put another stooge in and RAM a status of forces agreement down the new Iraqi gov't's throat. Then OCCUPY them like Germany, Japan, Korea, and dare the Muslims to try.
b. When there was a seed of a true democratic movement in Iran, use the tools and methods in place to do an Italy on Iran. You think that the communists in Italy were thwarted by Italian conservatives in the 1950s and 1960s? That nation had a LOT of help to muddle through to today... US help.
2. Even NOW, that resident in 1600 Pennsylvania can bail the fail chain.
a. Walk away from the deal.
b. Blame Congress and let the talks collapse out of the natural tendency of Iranians to shoot themselves in the mouth.
c. Lay the groundwork for the next president to retake Iraq and stop the slide in Pakistan.
d. Cozy up to India.
e. STOMP the Saudis ourselves. (LONG OVERDUE.)

Is the whole world crazy, or just that idiot at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

"The president even loves Israel, but in his way. It’s tough love to bring the Jews to heel. Just as Secretary of State John Kerry is topping up a deal to satisfy the mullahs in Iran, comes the news that the United States has declassified a 386-page report that reveals in minute detail Israel’s super-discreet nuclear program. Everybody knows Israel has one, but until now Israel, with American support, has never acknowledged it. To do so, all mature hands have agreed, could set off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

The American declassification, first reported by the Israeli news site Arutz Sheva, was made public in the wake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, when he warned that the deal envisioned by Mr. Obama would leave Iran with “nuclear breakout capabilities.”

-------------------------------------------------

"So why did Mr. Obama do it? Perhaps the question to ask is (as in the rock classic of days gone by), “What’s love got to do with it?” The declassified report tells how Israel developed “the kind of codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level,” describing how in the 1980s Israel was on the brink of creating bombs a thousand times more powerful than the atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki and ended World War II.

The information in the report, declassified in February, is not new. It was written in 1987 by the Institute for Defense Analysis, which is funded by the U.S. government for the Pentagon. But it contains information that might be useful as tips, not only for Iran but for other rogue governments with an itch to blow up the world in the service of Allah.

Curiously, when the Pentagon ordered the declassification, it retained the classification of information about nuclear research in Italy, France, Britain and other NATO countries. Mr. Obama apparently loves the Israelis so much he puts them in a special category, to be treated differently from everyone else."

It's official... Obama is a narcissistic madman who does not understand consequences.

why does everybody (or most people) think that he is a mad man, or incompetent, or makes honest mistakes?  why just not look at the facts and ask "who benefits from his policies?  which groups?".  and the decide if it really are mistakes and/or lack of understanding.

I know who benefits... hence my conclusion that he is a madman and a hater.

Kefflers right,
Conclusion from available data would point to Obama being a Muslim. An orthodox one, hell bent on the destruction of western civilisation. More specifically, as his policies have so benefited Iran at the expense of all Arab Sunnis thus far, one would also have to conclude he is Shiite Muslim.

So, taken all of the above together, if he is an orthodox shitte muslim, he's a madman, especially as he had the benefits of a western education and upbringing and was raised in relative affluence. (wish it was effluence).
If he's not a Shitte Muslim, then he's a lunatic who can't grasp the most basic precept of consequences and repercussions.
Again, the behaviour of a mad man.

I can't for the life of me replicate his thinking. I can't understand what arrogance would lead him to change half a century of effective policy as regards Israels nuclear deterrence and how it goes about it.
I get that you Americans are a meddlesome bunch, but where the arrogance comes from that he will trump Israeli national policy about how it goes about nuclear deterrence? Or why he thinks he understands arabic thinking better then a country that is 20% arabs, and has been fighting the other 200 million arabs for survival (successfully) for almost 70 years, i dont know.
Either way, he's a madman.
Sure, its old hat. But so long as its not acknowledged, then Arab media can hint at it, but doesn't need to plaster it all over the walls that Jews are capable of wiping out every last arab on earth. Clearly, even to a simple arab peasants world view, the converse isn't' true. They've been trying for a very long time and haven't managed.
This type of thinking can be very dangerous for Israel.
Obama is an asshole, not an evil genius, or a Shitte mastermind, just an asshole. Lets hope he finishes his term and manages to avoid 'helping' anyone else before he's done.
