As much as I dislike fundamentalism it is far preferable to the death of Israel.
A house divided cannot last. A people unwilling to fight surrounded by enemies will slowly surrender.

...until Israel realizes it has to stop making enemies and start making friends.

How many enemies is Israel able to take in?

(I'm Norwegian Chinese btw. and not a Jew or a Judaist.)

Now that I've given up my national identity I'll go on to say I assume you're either a liberal whiner (Sudan, three million blacks anyone?) who thinks Israel is a barbaric state, a muslim (who hate Jews) or a Nazi (same). Communists hate Jews too. People all over the world hate Jews because they've been a rich and talented minority that keeps apart, because they're leftists with no perspective or because they are muslims. Only that unlike Gypsies or Indians they've not been pestering others with crime or casinos. The only thing to truly accuse them for is a bit of religious craziness, but they've only acted comprehensively on it down in their new homeland and back in time when it was theirs.
But maybe I'm wrong, maybe you just think the Jews have an aggressive foreign policy and all, coming down to the Levant and carving out a nation. If that's the case you have a point, but wars of conquest are a time-honored truth of this world, and the inhabitants got to live there the same way by their ancestors.

Religious Claims to justify conquest aside: Jews have ancient and strong claims to the area, the Palestinians have a recent strong claim to the area.

Muslims, while they have occasionally treated their minorities well, have always treated their minorities like B and C-citizens. The Israeli people don't owe the West anything except for America a bit and they owe Europe and the Muslims nothing.

With an equal right to live there, and two such disparate people this problem is obviously going to be solved by violence.

Since the Jews decided to take this land, they would obviously have to face off against all the co-religionists of its inhabitants.

You think Egypt and Turkey care for Israel? People in Turkey still believe the protocols of the Elders of Zion. Their AKP leaders have to be retrained to understand Israel isn't a hive of scum and evil (not that you're going to have a problem with such a suggestion more than likely if you're muslim). All they have is a peace treaty that will last when times are good and when there is no substantial benefit to be had from war.

When the gloves are down in the next great war Israel will have to fight for its survival against any number of neighbors numbering from one to all, and it will have less to do with their current policy then with the ethnic-religious makeup.

Yes, you're right in a way. Play nice and there will be relative peace and quiet for decades. But it won't last.

Animosities can last for millenia. This goes all the way back to Ishmael and Isak. They have become hated enemies.
Perhaps a time far in the future, where muslims collectively (or at least the majority) recognize Israel's right to exist and have SOME land to rule over and Israel get's over itself there can be peace.

But right now Muslims wanna kill Jewboy, so a secure peace will not happen.
That is sort of the deal when you decide to settle in the middle of enemy territory.

And I bet you will find a few or many fancy reasons to ignore the bad blood betwee Jews and Muslims, but it's there and it is not going to go away easily. The Bible speaks of a time when Iranians, the lands north of Israel, Israel and Egypt will be friends, but this is far off (and probably when the Chinese missionaries have reached those lands).

A man once said: only Christianity can make Muslims and Jews friends.

An oversimplified truth, but basically true.
Time will show. Time will show that despite the occasional peaceful muslims and the large mass of suicidal Jews there will not be peace in the Middle East.
Not for decades or even centuries. Societal progress does not come on the cheap.

And here's the short anti-Islamic argument for the week (since Israel's nationstate enemies these days are exclusively muslim).

Hindu Kush. An entire region literally named 'Hindu Slaughter' (the slaughter of Hindus)
600,000,000 people over a thousand years. Israel is wise to net let its guard as far down as the Raj did.

While they can be fierceful in a stir, and while it may be wise that they have shown mercy to Pakistan (their numbers were beginning to really tell towards the end of most of those wars and one has to remember India has purposefully avoided designing an army capable of conquering Pakistan), I hope that someday the followers of that sissy, false religion take their revenge, and I hope even more even more for the sake of the grace of Indians and the mercy of Pakistan that is given to them in a more peaceful way from above.

But I suppose such hopes may come to naught. Indian leaders have historically been cowards, and so are their militias who prefer to chase down weaker targets, mainly Christians and also communists and seperatists when they're up to it.

India's government does resemble Israel's in many ways, only worse. It lets Pakistan start three western wars and yet it gives muslims special rights through not allowing non-natives to settle in Kashmir. How foolish. And of course, sensing weakness, this benevolence and human mercy (although not so grand) is rewarded with murder and mayhem.

Rest assured, my China has its imperial ambitions and will not tolerate its enemies as Israel does because its smaller or America does because it is kind and occasionally lazy (democrats and liberals who tire so easily of war). While mistakes may lie in the future we will not look kindly on seperatism though we do intend to make it worthwhile for those Tibetans who surrender their nationalism. Divide and Conquer. While we may be doing wrong in Tibet or some good or some mix, God has allowed it to happen that we conquered it, so it is possible that he was unhappy with the former rulers or the way the people conducted itself. What's important is that it has happened, and that since China has decided it owns Tibet that it makes the best of it.

As for the Uighurs... they will be slowly integrated and/or assimilated and those who resist will be ground under the scales of the rising Dragon.

It starts at Jerusalem, meaning it starts at home or with your own.
As your family goes before other people, so must the welfare of your own country go before that of others unless you are commiting an unequivocal evil (unequivocal because it is selfishness that is the primary factor in human policits).

But the Lord will ultimely punish evil and reward good, and though peace is better than war, and there will always be something wrong with war good is not always the peaceful way, nor is evil always war.
