There was a creature in Greek mythology who had a lot of heads, and every time you cut one of the heads off it would grow a new one immediately. Was it called the Medusa? Can't remember. That's what the IDF is doing in Gaza - cut off a head and another one pops up to replace it. There is no shortage of these characters. I am not sure that these people understand the concept of fear, since fear is the mechanism that triggers the self preservation instinct, and they obviously don't suffer from that.

The Hydra, and Herakles' solution was to burn each head at the stump, and seal it with pitch,  so that it couldnt grow back. Hellfire and bulldozing, fire and pitch. Works wonders as rats are squeezed into ever-constricting territory til they eat their own.
