100 billion barrels I think is an overestimate. If it turns out to be true, how on earth did we miss this mass treasure mine of black gold all this time?

Well there are lots of new siesmic technologies that have been developed in last 20 years. Most of that time though the place had been under a UN embargo.
 
If true, I doubt any US oil company will ever get the chance to drill it.
