Subject: US goes after Iranians in Iraq
PowerPointRanger    1/16/2007 1:20:25 PM
It's about time. For too long we've been sitting on our hands out of deference to the Iraqi government, which hopes for a more cooperative relationship with Iran--even as Iranian-built roadside bombs are used against our troops and Iranian-funded militias undercut the legitimacy and authority of any democratically elected government (just as they have done in Lebanon). Clearly President Bush realizes his time is running out. He has the Iraq war funded through October 2007, but after that it will be difficult to get funds from the cut-and-run leadership in the new congress. Bush has to at least make a case for 2008, which calls for aggressive action now. It's staring to look like the US will begin settling old scores with the usual suspects. Now we're rounding up Iranians and Syrians. It also may be a build-up for strikes into Iran itself. Two aircraft carriers in the region & extra 20,000 troops. It won't get any better than that. So chop up the Iranian militias first so they can't cause any further trouble, then bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. Is that what's coming next?
