I think the Gurkhas are still in Iraq. I bet they're itching for some fun. And yes, Uchiita, there was an embarassing fight about veterans pensions for Gurkhas. I'm not convinced the UK made the right call on that; there's something about it on the Gurkha website, but I don't know enough to judge.

The Gurkhas are a perfect example of short sightedness. These guys are great asymetrical warfare units. The Brits 86'd them over money, boo labour. Now the Brits are in a asymetric fight and need units that don't look, act, or think like your avg. Brit; and they don't have them. Kinda like the French getting rid of the Foreign Legion. Given the heterogenous make-up of the Legion it had people who know the language and the culture. Short sightedness..
