Subject: Russia Prepares to Spread her Wings
Sikman    5/6/2003 12:41:15 AM
Seems to me that the only place where Saddam Huessein or Bin Laden for that matter could safely hide is Russia. Why would they hide either of these ghastly individuals? Because Russia never lost the cold war, they just had us believe they did. The cold war is being fought through the use of terrorists by the puppet master Russia, something we have done since the 80's. When bin Laden attacked us all he did was switch over from our side to the Russians, who accepted him with open arms, kinda like payback for their Afghanistan debacle, in which we used him to reak havoc on the invading Russian armies. Another victory for Russia is the creation of a new neutral socialist "middle Europa" consisting of France, Germany and of course mother Russia herself. It seems that Russia counted on the stupidity and blinding jealousy of France in their effort to achieve this end, obviously that was a sure bet. As well the spread of thinly veiled communism into North America can be seen in the recent "anti-war" demonstrations throughout the USA, all of which had their strings pulled by established communist organizations such as "Not in Our Name." It seems that the American left has been tainted with communist propaganda to the degree that it no longer has a coherent message. So I ask the question is the US really a dominant global super power even with the victory over Iraq, or is it about to become usurped by a Russian, Chinese, Arab, Franco German communist juggernaut that is merely lying in wait?

Nice post Joe. I don't know how you managed to create a screen name like that of Sikman.

I would recommend reading the "Perestroika Deception," for more on this troubling phenomenon. I found it to be fascinating, and a good predictor of the current 4th world war.

This reminds me of a quotation I read once, allegedly from someone at the Soviet War College decades ago (the name escapes me). It went something like this: "We will make grand concessions in the name of peace, and when they are lulled into a false sense of security, we will smash them with the mailed fist!" (if anyone has ever seen this quote or know it's author, holler back) Somehow, I don't think the patience for such an approach is in the Russian national character. Nonetheless, their fist is currently mailed in tin foil.

AK - It was a quote from a Soviet general officer at the war college in the Former Soviet Union. Not a particularly famous person, but that quote has adorned security posters in many DoD buildings for years. along with a picture of a Soviet guard standing on top of the crumbeling Berlin wall as the citizens hammered away at it with sledge hammers. LOL! What a neat image! Still, I'd like to find out the name of the True Believer that actually said that. I'd love to read the context he said it in.

Sikman, I agree with you on your post, but what makes you think that commies infiltrated the US left wing and not plain stupidity? Chris

It might be true - the Russians might be behind much of the terror activity over the last few years. But if true it leaves me greatly puzzled. The USSR lost the Cold War mainly because of a failing economy. Nothing has changed dramatically on that account. The average Russian citizen does Not trust the Russian government (and for good reason). The Russians are fighting their own War on Terror in Chechnya. So supporting Islamists is, in effect, helping their enemies. By supporting Terror the Russians passively support the proliferation of WMDs. That is potentially a MUCH bigger problem for them (via Chechnyans) with their wide open and limitless land borders.

Greytraveller that is a good point but easily contradicted by the reality that Russia has been tirelessly helping the Iranians(a known terror sponser) aquire nuclear devices. Currently it seems like their efforts are bearing fruit. My spin on this is that by giving Iran nukes they protect their interest in Chechnya, sort of like a trade off. This occurs due to the fact that as part of the agreement to give Iran nukes, the islamic world is told to shut up about the dire situation on Chechnya. Additionally the islamic world agrees not to encourage other Islamic sections of Russia to launch jihads of independance against Russia causing it to fragment even further(1 in 7 Russians is a muslim). Islamic uprisings similar to Chechnya were a major fear when the USSR decided to shift from Stalinism to Lenninism in 1991-2, this was due to the fact that the communists could not maintain proxy control over an Islamic government like they could over current satellite states such as Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The arabs also gained from the bargain since they could now focus all of their energy on the most hated Israelis in their conflict with the Palestinians (they only need 1 major conflict to keep themselves united). The other major benefit to the USSR and the main reason why they feigned democracy in the first place was based on their intention to circumvent the doctrine of MAD. A Russia that appears friendly and democratic or at least in the process of democratization(a process that is designed never to come to an end)can pull the strings of terrorist organizations to act against the free world, much like the US did to Russia in Afghanistan. However the Russians through the use of nuclear armed terrorists now have the ability to eliminate the United States. With a socialist, impotent and neutral Europe and a rapidly growing communist controlled left wing in the United States(communists will use the stupidity and political ineptness of the American left just like it did the French to hijack any policies that are seen as a threat to the peace). Iraq was just a dress rehearsal in which we learned many things, mainly that France and Germany have finally been totally infected with communism, after years of trying the Russians have officially "taken" western Europe. However France and Germany have been traded for Bulgaria and Latvia, who sided with the US out of open protest to Soviet intervention into their respective countries. I would not be surprised if any political instability were to suddenly arise in those countries. One current example of US knowledge of Russia's plans is the fact that the small former Russian colony of Georgia quickly played host to US troops after the invasion of Afganhistan. It is a known fact that the Georgian leadership is openly anti-communist and thus the greatest threat to Russian dominance in central Asia.

There is no need to explain with conspiracy theories what simple human stupidity can accomplish. I think you are reading too much into this.

Sikman, The true Communists in Russia are still a large minority but are nonetheless a minority, and they are shrinking. Putin is an ardent Russian nationalist and is self-interested but is not irrational or stupid. The transition to democracy is certainly not going as smoothly or quickly as we'd hoped, but the implementation of market reforms is largely genuine, which in and of itself precludes the brand "Leninist." I fail to see how a rational nationalist--or even a communist--could believe that one could control Islamic fanatics for any length of time, and certainly not enough to trust them with nuclear weapons. Look what happened to us after our long involvement in Afghanistan, after all. Look at what happened in the Moscow theatre. I also fail to see how Georgia is in any way a threat to Russia. On the other hand, I can point some fairly large reasons why Russia might be a threat to Georgia. Russia is a friend of Russia. Our paths will inevitably cross at some junctions in the future, and they may well run side by side for some distance as well. This "the-USSR-never-disbanded" stuff is not only unconstructive, but it's worthy of Baghdad Bob. --Phoenix Rising

Sikman you could be partially right. It is possible that diehard communists seek to discredit the Putin 'administration' by covertly (unknown to the Russian government) providing support for Iraq and/or Iran and/or Islamic terror orgs. It is also possiblt that certain Russian muslem scientists (who secretly sympathize with OBL and others) have provided technical knowledge to islamist governments or terror orgs. Either of those two possibilities is very real.

>This "the-USSR-never-disbanded" stuff is not only unconstructive, but it's worthy of Baghdad Bob.< "Trust, but verify." Gorbachev recently said "Communism is dead" - overlooking China, North Korea, Cuba, and a large part of the Democratic Party. While I do think communism has failed as a practical means to govern a people, there are still dead-enders in the world willing to give it a try. We've just got to weather the death-throes of communism (aka terrorist attacks) without becoming police states ourselves.
