Subject: Formal Arab Union in the Face of Iranian Nuclear Capabilty?

Given ME history and the emergence of a moderate Iraq, would some type of formal union among Arab countries be a positive influence or a negative one with regard to regional peace, stabilty, prosperity or the existance of Israel?

Would it solve more problems than it might create?
