Subject: Sources

I'm looking for primary or top quality sources on Wehrmacht artillery methods 1919-1945. Have located many online sources but these al lack the depth I need, and have a fair number of obvious errors. Any help here, even items in German, would be appreciated.

Too lazy to look the source for you, but my suspicion is that you're going to need to access Bundeswehr archives to pull their equivelent field manuals. I imagine that you're looking for the guts of observed fire, fire direction, and employment procedures. I, too, have an interest, but have read nothing topical by former wehrmacht artillery officers, nor do I read German. Still, it must be out there. I've had an open thread here for two months on pionieren/sturmkompanies from world war II, with nothing returned. No fault of the guys here, but clearly these are original source questions that have largely been ignored by the main stream military media.

I have been lucky enough to find two accounts, in english, from German artillerymen. One by an officer the other by a gunner/clerk. Both usefull, but lacking enough details. Theres some tantalizing remarks in the Journal of the Royal Artillery circa 1936-1945, but again just fragments.

Check the artillery thread, somebody left you with a decent site. Go through it (cool pictures) with a good bibliography at the end that may lead to better stuff.
