First of all i dont think there is any reasone why Greeks and Turks should go in war.

Secondly look into History. If you do so you would see that Turks are warriors by racial. Turks used to grow up as warriors and have very powerful skills in war.

Greeks have a very powerfull history and culture.Spartans do not exist anymore. What does exists now days is Corpatocrasy. And this means that Greece and Turkey actualy does not exists anymore.Greek companies have taken over alot of balcanian countries as american companies are roaming in the whole world.Turkey does not have the actual economy or the knowledge to understand this. Turkey is back in 1453 victory and stayed there until now.

They cant understand that a country is not taken over with weapons anymore and that is because they lived as warriors not as philosofers.

In fact we don?t even know that we taking over turkey by banks and corporations. But its happening. In fact Greece is already in Iraq extracting money from the country with telephone companies and more is coming. You dont need weapons and military to conquer a country. In fact we dont need land anymore. what we need is money.

I believe that turkey 40% live poor and go poorer while the true masters in turkey are the Banks that are funded by the US Fed and in fact turkey doesn?t have something to sell in the world to make money. So they do what Americans tell them to do.Anyway Greeks do not need to atack Turkish land. And if turks atack us i dont think they can match us for 3 reasonse.

1.Greeks will defend and the Greek land is fixed this way that is difucult to allow turkish intrusion. Dont forget that 1 Greek = 7 turks but if 1 Greek is waiting behind a door and 7 turks line up and pass the door :)... .

2.Turkey can not afford a war. They are already surrounded by countries that actualy hate them. And if they do so then turkey will vanish from the map.

3.Turkey doesnt whant to have war with a europian country because they know what will come after.

Welcome into the 21rth Century.

The new lie of coward mouths Money!

Still the arm power leads the human world.Thr was wars, thr s wars, thr will be wars.It s a fairy tale tht peace in world.
And in ths world just the Braver Ones will survive.

1. "Greeks will defend and the Greek land is fixed this way that is difucult to allow turkish intrusion. Dont forget that 1 Greek = 7 turks but if 1 Greek is waiting behind a door and 7 turks line up and pass the door :)... . "
-Anatolia was Greeks'.Now It s Our!

2.  "Turkey can not afford a war. They are already surrounded by countries that actualy hate them. And if they do so then turkey will vanish from the map."
-We have ruled half of the world. We fighted against all the world, and we r still here.Just a little info for u ; There s More then 400million TURKS in this world!

3.  "Turkey doesnt whant to have war with a europian country because they know what will come after."
-Lots of european people hates us because of their fear deep in their hearts and their pasts. We dont need their money, their sources or more.We have the youngest nation in ths area.We have the raw material to produce everything. We have the man power and the educated brains. We have water, we have petrol,..etc. We have everything tht we need!

Two Ages ended because of TURKS(Fall of the Western Roman Empire and Fall of Constantinople). And Dont Worry, We will save u from ths last Age too ;)

It's threads like this that convince me one of the US's greatest strengths is that we don't spend time obsessing over centuries old slights.

This board has enough thread-necromancers to make a George Romero Zombie movie look like a walk in the park.

Seriously how many of you guys actually have something useful to add past "You SUCK!!!!" and "NO!!! YOU SUCK!!!"?

It's simple guys....Size doesn't matter....The will matters..I remember on March 1821 , the greek revolution , even if Turks were more, Greece won! There are similar examples in history...Also u must not forget that Turkey has a nuclear factory, and now they are gonna build two more...So it's a very good aim for us to hit them!

FEARLESS TURKS    Air defense   7/19/2009 7:30:19 PM
Turkey has thought about Greeces hard AA guns and Turkey did thought wisely beacuse Turkey bought IAI Harpy, its basicly half missile and half UAV missile (check some pictures and make sure you write IAI harpy not harpy) the purpose of IAI Harpy when it detects enemy rader it just dives in to the rader and letting off its explosive warhead!
So Greece now have a big problem fighting these little bombs as the IAI Harpy cannot be dected from a radet(except from the base it's being contreld in)

What if Greeks and Turks were on the same side?

So much have been posted in this thread, trying to keep alive hatred between two nations that have far more in common than in differ! Trying to make the turk or greek reader of this thread fantasize war with his neighbor... for what? For the U.S. military industry to make 19billion $ revenue as the topic says?!

I'm Greek and i travel a lot ...one of my most favourite places is Turkey.. not only for its natural beuty but for its people! I have been there several times and i have never met any Turk to say a bad word when i tell him i'm Greek, on the contrary i think Turks like Greeks more than any other foreigner!

I have many Turk friends and the fact that our grandfathers fought each other, can't make me stop being friend with them! I know history and i respect it, but i don't like seeing others feeding hatred again for their geopolitical, political, economic, conspiracy, rule the world... reasons

But since this military comparison is imaginary ...compare this:
Greeks and Turks allied... against every other mediteranean power  ...!
far fiction huh?! The two most equiped and well trained armies around and already allies under NATO flag (having Turk commanders rulling Greek NATO troops and vice versa atm)

Some don't want good relations between Turkey and Greece ...
Some need them to be rivals...
But these that this conflict is at their interest, does not read threads like this one, its the people here that is called to oppose each other ...

wake up people

Let me start by saying that sadly i dont see any real depth or sophistication behind most remarks, or even any real attempt of analysis.I wont comment about people who post one line posts. Propably going through their puberty still.

I ll be quick.
Air situation.
A war would result in intense usage of the air force from both countries in order to achieve air superiority or to support potential ground or naval missions. The number of aircraft available to both countries would suggest --if any of you has ever bothered reading a bit about modern warfare at all --that both countries would be left with less than 40-50 aircraft in less than 2 weeks possibly a week or so  of fighting.Effectively rendering the air weapon on both sides as a spectator for the remaining of the conflict with no real power to affect its outcome in any way.
Land situation
Stalmate. The Greeks although less have enough equipment specially artillery and tanks to obliterate anything that moves on the other side in Thrace , the same goes for the Turks. The key is simply who will be brave(or stupid if you like ) to come out first.I served in the artillery (MLRS) and i saw Pzh2000 and what they can do and to think that both countries have ammased all their cream of their artillery and tanks against 80-100 km line , all the targets are already known  distances positions etc makes my hair stand up.
Navy situation
Althought the Turkish navy has a few more frigates , still lacks a few key elements to gain supremacy in the aegean.
a)no major naval base in the aegean. In the past they had a vastly superior fleet but they simply couldnt deploy it outside the bosporous in time and for long enough. When someone knows were you are going to come from ,all they have to do is sit and wait like a cat waits for a mouse to come out of its little hole. The only major naval base (messina ) opposite cyprus cannot be used for the entire turkish fleet  as a) would present it self as a major taget opportunity plus it would mean all the movements would be easily predictable and hance very valnurable.Greece on the other hand can have her ships lying around virtually anywere in the aegean with the numerous small and big ports at any time including cyprous herself.

These are some strategic factors and for those who know anything about history mean something , for the rest you will simply have to grow up a bit more.
Occupying an island or two doesnt constitues victory in modern warfare. You would not see mass ground attacks as in ww2 so who cares if turks are 1 10 or 100 million.Does anyone of you know what it takes to actually mobilise and maintain an army ?an army consists of ppl not robots.Thay have to be trained , fed , equipped. moved around , housed etc Even Germany at ww2 a fully mobilised nation by 1943 could not afford to employ everyone at the army at the same time.At most they had 3-4 million at any point.I wont even mention the casualties  even with the primitive by today standrds weapons the nations were using at that time.
Modern warfare and in case of Turkey vGreece would be more like a kosovo/serbia style at least at the land ,were guerilla tactics and stalmate would soon take place as the lethality of the technology far surpasses any numerical advatages a side might present.

thank god a friendly person....I too think Greece and Turkey should improce their relations and get over the hatred. And I know Turkey has a lot more work to do about this....being a Turk(or let's say Anatolian) I'm ashamed of most of my fellow citizens. It's good to see people like you Greek friend :)
