i don't think the french would do this, even if they could. politically, it wouldn't make much sense. what's more, i don't think they are opposed in principle to countries possessing nukes. 80% of france's energy needs are met by nuclear power. they are also developing a new form of nuclear energy based on fusion in plasma. via magnetic fields the plasma can be made stable and energy derived from it on a continuous basis, much like a star produces energy. i believe the center is somewhere in Provence. bottom line, France is a world leader in cutting edge nuclear technology: it is into creating new technology, not destroying nculear facilities around the world.

GOG FRance is as leery about Iranian nukes as USA. In fact France has more to worry about in the long run.

i don't follow you, dude. what does france have to worry about? i think iran is holding quite a few trump cards right now in any confrontation with the west: by sinking a couple ships it can close the oil supply through Homuz (spelling?) and with the price of oil motoring toward US$100/barrel, it is fast becoming a deadly weapon; shutting down their production for a few months would cause chaos in the west due to out of control oil prices. having nukes will just be another ace in their hand... but these threats are all DETERRANTS. i see no threat to france. is there one?

"but these threats are all DETERRANTS. i see no threat to france. is there one?" Nuclear Weapons in a country that is prone to Revolutions, with a Government that the people are tired of. Oh yeah, and they are known supporters of terror.

It's one thing to test-fire an A-bomb, and quite another to be able to actually deliver one on a target thousands of kilometers away. It took the US 2 years to build an experimental A-bomb, and 15 more years to develop one that could be delivered by an SLBM. Some of the necessary information is definetely not public knowledege and requires extensive testing to acquire. I'm not saying Iran can't do it, just that they most probably aren't there yet and won't be before quite some time, and certainly not before some warning gets to the outside world - as in wildly overshot very-low-yield tests that turn into several-kt detonations. This said, yes France does have the capability to at least severely damage Iran's nuclear program - most probably using Apache cruise missiles fired from carrier-launched aircraft.

I would add a strike from FAF from Djibouti to complement CDG strike. But we would only crippled known and unhardened installations. The problem is the same for US or Israel.Where are the keys items as other known items as Busher are only decoy installations ( in the sense Busher is first a civilian plant).Iranian installation can only be destroyed with HUMINT intelligence and ground troops.
