This is the mood in the Fighters forums so I thought I would just declare war here instead. C'mon all you armchair generals, who wins this fight?

Well the British are more than welcome. A suprise nuclear strike would give us time to build and deploy more forces while EU tries to establish order and reorganize military.

Yeah- no party could invade the other. However, if you were Saddam Hussein-era Iraq, who would you rather fight against, the EU or the U.S?

EU. Especially if U.K. didnt help. Saddam could have fought them to stalemate with 1991 forces.

you think saddam would have fought the german army to a stalemate in 1991? perhaps, but only because of lack of transport ability. with france, this wouldn't work. add italy, spain and norway... the eus strength depends on its ability to fight together, one country might have more cargo planes, one more sips, one more tanks.

It took the U.S. 6 months to move enough force into the region to stop Saddam. The EU would take even longer. And by the time they were ready to attack, Saddam would be COMPLETELY entrenched. So any EU invasion to remove him from Kawait would have been a tremendous disaster compared to the U.S. invasion. Especially with 1991 European weapons. Hell Even with 2005 European weapons. Imagine the cost of a EU Desert Storm with no F-15, F-117, B-52, Tomahawk, A-10, Iowa Class and American Space assets! The casualties would be huge. European ground forces would meet a prepared Iraqi Army. While I have no doubt that they would eventually win. The cost would be politically unacceptable. Saddam would prevail strategically.

and spain go into Iraq? After one terrorist attack Spain left Iraq with their tale in between their legs- I guess they haven't learned the lesson from Munich.

Hasn't the RAF been known to track the B2 and F-117? As soon as they start dropping from the skys, there would be problems. The all you need is a couple of SSN's to sink one or two Enterprise size carriers, and me thinks it will look a tad different! A few strategic strikes by European forces would sure scare the hell of them. Europeans are to be honest used to being weary of bombs etc, so this would be nothing new, in the US this is a new phenomena.

More like European ignorance to me. You would lose soooooo bad to the US you would regret it, just give up, there is no point in arguing..

Total rumors. B-2 and F-117 in RAF airspace use reflectors for safety and air traffic control purposes. And what European population has been bombed in recent history? Utter nonsense. You are completely vunerable to US attack. Even more so because of the high level of industrialization and dependence on foriegn goods and energy. Limited nuclear strike, naval blockade, intense PGM air campaign, amphibious assault, airborne raids and combined arms offensive would break you within 6 months. You would have to agree to unconditional surrender or face destruction of Europe.
