Subject: RE:Why Germany Lost BoB. The truth...
F22    12/9/2004 11:23:50 PM

Excellent discussion everyone. One point about the Luftwaffe was that it was organized more around a tactical role than a strategic one. How much did this affect the outcome?

Suppose the Luftwaffe had a 4-engine heavy bomber available in 1940. Suppose also that the Luftwaffe had developed the tactics and doctrine appropriate to a strategic air campaign, such as Bomber Command and the 8th, 9th, and 15th Air Forces executed later in Europe. Could this have turned things around in Germany's favor?
