I dont like Israeli army being at the ninth place. Look at the stupidity of this report, india has mostly russian made weapons but her army is better than russia, what joke.

Ammmm, India sure does have a Russian weapon but an Armey rating isn't just how big is the army and how much weapons does he got, Israel have a small well trained Armey with new hi-tech weapons for her soldiers, that what made her Armey better then her Arabs neighbors it the last 60 years. But you should also take in charge the ?homeland protection?! The Israeli Armey is only for defense (not the fence, heard it once, not funny!!) purpose (I?m not sure about the spelling of the last word) only. I think that Israel should be a bit higher (something like 4-6 more) . And another point, Israel is now getting 102 brand new f-16i;s. Now after that(year 2008) Israel goanna have the second largest air force in the world, even larger then UK.

What will be the compesition of the Israeli air force? PS - it won't be second largest because China at least will have massive numbers of aircraft. Not all that good but still in terms of numbers huge.

-Can I ask what the total inventory of the Israeli Air force will be in 2008 considering that the RAF Is procuring 232 Eurofighter Typhoons and jointly with the RN 150 F-35 JSF which are both to my knowledge a generation ahead of the F-16, not to mention other aircraft in the RAF that are not necessarily are front line fighters or even combat aircraft.

The RAF will get an increase of about 100 combat aircraft and about 25 transport aircraft after the current plans have been completed This will include 232 Typhoon 150 F-35 112 Tornado GR4 Total - 494 combat aircraft Transport Aircraft 45 C-130/J 25 A400M 26 A330* 4-6 C-17 Total - 100-102 Transport aircraft *Note that the A330 while being RAF aircraft are to be operated by civilian companies in peace time and as such there may be more aircraft ordered than the number needed to simply replace the VC10 and Tristars.

What are you talking about? I'm just giving future numbers of RAF aircraft. If you're refering to the A330 then you should realise that although they are operated by civilians during peace time they remain RAF aircraft and are used as such when needed. It's simply a way of keeping costs down, it's got nothing to do with comercial airliners.

Instead of 2008 I"m going to push it back a year to 2009 cause thats when the last f-16I will be delivered. IAF Order of Battle f-15 Approx 100 f-16 Approx 345 F-4 Approx 140 Considering that only the first 80 or so Eurofighters will be in the RAF by 2009, its not a force the RAF should want to play tag with.

According to various sources, the 102 F16I's ordered will be replacing both the F-15 and F-4 due to cost reasons and the other, earlier varients of the F-16 which date from the 80's will alo be phased out. link Have a look at this source for example:

Thats interesting, I find it hard to believe that the IAF is cutting back that many aircraft. The order is for 102 and the numbers of the planes it is replacing: f-15 72 f16a/b 108 f-4 140 a-4 50 The have a current operational force of 532 combat aircraft. If they eliminate the ones in the article they would be left with 265. I donlt see them cutting there force that drastically. I can see the F-16Is replacing the A-4s, and the F-4s except for a few reccee birdes. Don;t expect them to pull any of the 15s or 16s for a while.

If Russia had no nukes they would be not even in top ten. btw, i am pro usa in case you wonder, I do not like being canadian..pacifist liberals here..all my summers are spent in Philly land of my Eagles near the Jersey shore..so call me a qausi American ^_*

Here's the basic problems for North Korea: 1. The country is starving 2. The equipment is old 3. Their army is not well trained 4. Their morale, motivation, etc. is hollow 5. They might have a nuke, that doesn't mean they have a re-entry vehicle yet. Building ballistic missiles is a whole different ballgame from a crude nuclear bomb. Now, the things people get wrong on S. Very motivated if a war happens on the Korean peninsula, large numbers of well trained, motivated reserves, a determination to never allow the Korean war to happen that way again. 4. The support of the USA and Japan in strategic terms. North Korea's military, and indeed the whole country, is hollow. If they attacked South Korea it wouldn't even be a contest. If ROK attacks North Korea it will be over nearly as quickly. Stop listening to the bravado and bluster of Kim and look at the realities.

Facts are that the North Koreans have dug hundreds of miles of tunnels that can resist bunker buster bombs. Also they have stored tons of rations, artillery and other equipment. Kim is quite ready to humker down and flatten Seoul and over 1 million South Koreans would be gone in the 1st days from the shelling etc. Also note that all 38000 Americans would also be obliterated by Kim's artillery barage. Remember their whole country is the reserve over 15 million adults in a 22 million country. I strongly advise that most are unaware of his vast tunnel complex from where they are safe and can carry war even to Japan. I do not think much of the North's military however they have done things that would cost many American and ROK lives. Consider Hawaii and Tokyo, Guam, LA and San fran gone in the 1st days!
