Subject: Weapon Masters

This is a new show on the Military Channel (U.S. Cable and Satellite). The show consists of a historian who gives a bit of background on a weapon of note, and then provides some measure of demonstration. Then an 'engineer' tries to exceed its capabilities using modern methods and materials. I've only seen a couple episodes of this so far, and while the premise does seem promising, the 'engineer' is a flaky moron who doesn't seem to have the vaguest idea of how to use either engineering techniques or science to actually design something. His design philosophy appears to be closer to "toss crap at the wall and see what sticks". I imagine I'll continue to watch for a while yet in the hopes that it turns out better, but so far it has been a disappointment.
