Subject: Iranian KC-747 aerial refueling tankers?
reefdiver    2/3/2007 12:30:07 PM
I didn't even know these existed. Apparently Iran has or had a squadron of 10 of these. From research I'm not certain if Boeing modified the 747's or just did a prototype and provided aircraft and parts to convert the others? I wonder how many are still flying.

- Also - don't recall seeing a 747 with a refueling receptacle as in the second picture. Do they exist outside these Iranians?

According to Wikipedia, pre-revolution Iran purchased 4 747-100s modified to refuel F-4s.
