FARNBOROUGH, England, July 19 (Reuters) - Boeing Co. (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday Denmark had signed a letter of intent to join a team of NATO nations joining together to share a pool of the U.S. planemaker's C-17 transport jets.
Denmark is the first NATO member to publicly commit to the plan, which would involve purchasing an unspecified number of C-17s -- worth about $220 million each -- from Boeing.
Boeing said other NATO nations were close to signing similar agreements to join the initiative, but did not identify which.
