In my last message I championed the 747 over the C5A. The truth is I think the military should be looking at wige (wing in ground effect) aircraft with greater interest. May I point to a paper by David L. Trotman, student #144, Seminar 13, Army Management Staff College, Class 97-3, titled, "Wing in Ground Effect to the Rescue" Wige aircraft can carry approximately 5 times the amount of cargo that a high flying aircraft can at almost the same speed as a 747. In WWII the Germans were more appreciative of Dr, Goddard's work then the US military. Then as now the Us Military sits on the side lines while China, Russia and Germany develope this technology, Hello Boeing, maybe you should get your head out of the clouds (with the strata cruiser)and come down to earth with a WIGE transport. Sincerely, Jim Sereyka

so what do you do when your enemy sets up a series of varrying barrage ballons to get in your way now ww2 technology has taken you out and your whole load just fell 70m. or maybe he could just fire a load of ainti air missles. or maybe he could just fire cannons from tanks at you. basically the problem with wige ships is that they would be easier to take out than a high flying aircraft or ship.
