Karem Aircraft are proposing a civilian Tiltrotor VTOL, B-737 sized airliner. I doubt it will be built, but it might lend some credence to a heavier lift quad-rotor.
Personally, I think that removing the complexity of the V-22's rotating wing and folding propellers and their incumbent weight required for shipboard deployment, could result in a much, much more reliable VTOL aircraft. |
