Has anybody written the history of Sea Lift Command and the danish shipping line Maersk. It is interesting, that Mærsk-Sealand is the only shipping line capable of lifting an entire US Army. The pre-positioned ships are to a large extend old Mærsk ships, which makes a lot of sense, as this line knows their old ships, and can sell/lease them without selling to competitors - which could sell freight to dumping prices. Look out: Double hull tankers have for long been a Mærsk speciality, we might see som tightning up on regulations Exxon Valdez et alia are a nice pretext.

"... Ahh I think you got your facts a lot off mark. History of MSC is available on a yearly basis at www.msc.navy.mil. A good deal of his is at: link ..." Good lord!!! you had better be careful with your acronyms, as anyone who knows shipping would find anyone claiming to be associated with MSC questionable at best. And I am talking the "real" MSC (Mediteranean Shipping Company), not the Military Sealift Command. I nearly fell off my chair until I saw the .mil link....

I am aware of that shipping company.  Are you aware of the US Navy's Military Sealift Command controls over 100 civilian ships and employs over 6000 mariners?  Certainly in the context of "prepositioning ships" with refernce to .mil links,  it was obvious which organization I was referring to?
