uh, why do you say we aren't using them? They take care of ASW, ASuW, and refueling fr the carriers. Sure they aren't dropping bombs but they still are needed I would think.

The S-3 and the P-3, to the best of my knowledge, were never equipped to carry bombs. They DO carry torpedoes internally (4-8, I think) and can carry 1 Harpoons each wing. No bombs; though I'm sure you could jurry-rig something.

according to aviation week the P-3 can carry lots of stuff. Don't quote me but it seems they Have dropped some bombs in the A country.
