Subject: The Ultimate Force Multiplier about to be Procured by the US
hatchetman    9/1/2004 5:34:12 PM
Imagine soldier never being burdened by the heat or dehydration. If a soldier is dehydrated 2-3% he is at 60% efficiency. Even with the top warfare equipment in the world the soldier still must be able to perform.

Think about a soldier at 90-95% efficiency he will be smarter, faster, and sharper, in all a product has turned a military into a force multiplier; thank God the USA will have it soon.

What are your opinions, scientific info is below.

Aquis is like Gatorade on steroids; it does not have the salt taste and is extremely effective. the best scientists in the world created AQUIS.

You can do all the research on us and will see that it's not made up any false claims.

It will prevent all heat related injuries and is a force multiplier.

Read this study by the US Army on heat casualties.

THE ADVANTAGES OF AQUIS:
Rehydration during periods of, or after, physical activity is typically via consumption of an oral rehydration fluid such as water or a mixture of water with added carbohydrates and electrolytes. The added electrolytes and carbohydrates aid in recovery from exercise and also facilitate passage of fluids from the gut into the blood and the tissues.

AQUIS? Rapid Response Rehydration solutions provide superior rehydration through advanced liposomal electrolyte delivery technology (micro-encapsulating the electrolyte payload for direct absorption into the bloodstream). Direct absorption begins immediately upon drinking AQUIS? because the micro-encapsulated electrolytes are absorbed by all membranes with which they come into contact (beginning with the mucous membranes in the mouth).

This micro-encapsulation of the electrolytes allows AQUIS? to taste good (no salty taste), and therefore, soldiers will drink it and stay hydrated. Soldiers will desire to drink AQUIS? even before they are thirsty (an indication of dehydration). This is an important accomplishment, as soldiers become dehydrated and less effective long before they feel thirsty.

The use of AQUIS? results in superior (greater, faster and more efficient) electrolyte and water absorption as compared with the use of (a) water, (b) a simple or complex carbohydrate and electrolyte solution, and (c) the current advanced World Health Organization formulation. In addition, the speed and efficiency of absorption aspect of AQUIS? prevents any feeling of ?bloating?.

Since the AQUIS? delivery technology facilitates transport into the blood, carbohydrates are not needed to draw fluid out of the gut (although complex carbohydrates are included in the AQUIS? formulation to support physical energy and endurance). AQUIS? products are in compliance with all Food and Drug Administration requirements for sale to consumers in the United States.

AQUIS? has been shown to be the most effective oral rehydration solution in the world by some of the top scientists in the world in the field (a team of scientists at the International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh ("ICDDRB") led by Dr. David Sack).

Dr. Sack, who is considered one of the world?s foremost authorities in rehydration, is the Director of the ICDDRB and has been on the faculty of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland, heading the Vaccine Testing Unit, which, among other things, specializes in studying improvements to oral rehydration solutions. The ICDDRB is the institution that pioneered the discovery of oral rehydration solutions and has recently received the Gates Award for Global Health in recognition of this contribution.

Results of tests recently conducted by top scientists at the ICDDRB demonstrate that the use of AQUIS? results in clearly superior (and faster) water and electrolyte absorption as compared with the use of other oral rehydration solutions, including the current advanced World Health Organization formulation.

Additionally, AQUIS? tastes less salty and is much more acceptable to those drinking it, as the electrolytes are micro-encapsulated in a liposomal delivery system (which is primarily responsible for the superior absorption). The rehydration version of AQUIS? is available in four flavors: Orange, Grape, Tropical Punch, and Lemon-Lime.

The scientific reports on AQUIS? prove our claims and were presented at two of the most highly regarded conferences in the world in the field of rehydration.
American Gastroenterological Association meeting in New Orleans, May 15, 2004 which is commonly referred to as Digestive Disease Week (DDW).

10th Asian Conference on Diarrhoeal Diseases and Nutrition (10th ASCODD) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on 7-9 December 2003

Crosshair    RE:The Ultimate Force Multiplier about to be Procured by the US - Not really   9/2/2004 1:04:43 AM
The problem with such a product is that staying hydrated is a very minor problem compared to other problems; ammo, weapons, phycological stress. If it tastes so good that soilders will chug it before they get into battle then it's advantage is gone because soilderes will overhydrate and use up their supply. Also, the human mind can be enhansed through such products and drugs. But the disadvantage is that such reliance is that if the supply is cut off performance can be even worse if the supply is cut off. From personal experience, caffine works wonders when you really need it. The come down is not bad, but my effeciveness at what I do suffers greatly. Even Gatorade has an effect like this, when I run out, I am less likely to drink plain water, thus becoming dehydrated, (almost ended up in with heat exaustion from that one). The human body can only take so much. I would rather have a lower performing force that has a constant effectiveness than one that could crap out at a moments notice because they ran out of Gatorade. When I go out on a long hike, plain water it is for me.

hey hatchetman, Crosshair is right. At Fort Hood I got drank soda in the field(was in 13th Signal 1st Cav so I had vehical to carry it in) when I went to NTC I did not have any so I work without it. Sgt Rose asked me to come over and take a break and get some water. I was in such bad shape I acctually got into a arguement with him(reason for Article 15), so take from experience Crosshair is correct. I found out the hard way. Sincerely, Keith

So 'roids are a good thing now? Is this a product endorsement or a serious opinion? Go sell it to the jocks. 'Roids ruin athletes and the sports that fail to crack down on them. (Hemo/Ste)roids - it's all a pain in the...

While not necessarily dehydration, keeping the body cool helps in the same situations where dehydration is a problem.

Sugar, moisture, and heat = funky bacteria growth = sickness. Camelbak bladders should be full of water, not drink mixes. Soldiers on extended patrols don't have the resources/time to clean out bladders to prevent the bacteria growth. If this product is better than Gatorade, then it would be great for mixing in water bottles when vehicle mounted, but not for dismounted patrolling. The real issue for dehydration is leadership and making sure your soldiers drink water. During day 1 of our May JRTC rotation, I had two heat casualties from the exact same squad. Coincidence? No, the SL/TL weren't supervising the water intake of their men like they should have. After some hands on combat lifesaver training sticking the two, we didn't have any other heat casualties for the rest of our time in the box.
