The F-15 will be the eventual winner based on two factors: 1) Cost - the F-15 will be the least expensive alternative; 2) The Eagle will offer all the capability the SAF needs especially with its longer range.

I aggree with Goblin, I think the F-15 will win in the end. Now this isn't mean comment towards our french friends, but I doubt that will win. As far as I know they haven't exported any Rafales. I may be wrong because I really don't pay much attention to the plane. It definately would be a big boost to Eurofighter if they won, but the F-15 seems to be the best choice. It's cheaper and with the electronics that are going into it, the plane should be more then enough for Singapore. That would keep the F-15 production line open for almost 40 years! That has to be unprecedented for a Western fighter.

Usually in this region of the world, the country that 'pays off' the right people wins the contract.
