trenchsol    antisemitizm in Europe   1/25/2009 11:03:33 PM
I don't believe much in "grassroots" ideas, I think they are being deliberately pushed by some groups. So it is probably the case with antisemitizm in Europe. The Jews are very well integrated, there is nothing particular that could drive animosity. So, who is pushing the idea ?

I remember a buying frenzy in 80's of last century, when Arab sheiks kept buying anything across Europe  and elsewhere (hotels, industry, anything). They came with tons of cash. Than they went quiet. I wonder what and whom did they buy.

One can find a number of websites in Europe questioning pro-muslim policies of European leaders. Nobody is allowed to raise a voice against them.  Look what happened to Aiyan Hirsi Ali ! Look what is happening to Geert Wilders ! Whoever is pushing that agenda should remember that the bloodiest and most brutal wars ever all took place in Europe.

I would like to believe this post--and think it is likely to be true--but without any sort of attribution or way to chase down it is just more noise. SP--please provide some attribution to reputable sources.

Looks like Palestinian Health people say 1300 mostly civilians, the IDF says 1300 mostly Hamas, The world Health people say 1300 mostly unknown, and some Italian Guy says 500 Mostly Hamas.  So its between 500 and 1300 mostly dead.

Mostly dead, means some alive.

ALL DEAD, well the only thing you can do is go thru their pockets and look for loose change.

FJV    Nonsense   1/26/2009 1:12:43 PM
The European attitude is the direct result of the fact that the Palestinians are effective in their propaganda while the Israelis are really s#%t at it. (and that's and understatement) Accusing the average European on antisemitism does not change this fact.

Not everybody has the time and energy to expend the needed effort to become well informed about this conflict. This means that they rely on TV news for information to base their opinion on. And with the Palestinians being vastly superior at propaganda, that means pro Palestinian.

In my opinion accusing the average European "antisemitism" is basically a BS feel good excersize so that you don't have to face the ugly fact of how hopelessly crap your propaganda efforts are.As long as Israel refuses to embrace effective propaganda techniques, this will continue/worsen.

PS
The Bush administration were also utterly crap with respect to propaganda. If you cannot gain the moral high ground in the media over a dictator that uses rape rooms to torture children in front of their parents, then you're doing something seriously wrong. (like completely screwing your propaganda efforts perhaps?)

In fact it is not a BS. I've seen the opinion polls results. In fact Spain is leading in anti-semitism, which I find unexpected.  Other countries have  fair percent of antisemites, too.  The polls were conducted by ADL,
"http://www.adl.org/anti_semitism/european_attitudes_may_2005.pdf".  Even if you consider results a bit exaggerated or biased, they are significant.

One should ask  why is that so.  I  happen to know some Jewish people, there is no way to  tell  them from  the others,  so it can't be  spontaneous. I could never guess unless they told me. They have no problem with the language, they dress like anybody else, tell the same jokes like anybody else, they go to the same places, drink the same liquors, etc. So, someone must be pushing it.

FJV    Let's compare the Netherlands to the US   1/27/2009 1:48:28 PM
Sources:

1: Jews are more loyal to Israel than to this country.
- Netherlands:  36% Answer probably true
- USA:             31% Answer probably true
2: Jews have too much power in the business world.
- Netherlands:  18% Answer probably true
- USA:             20% Answer probably true
3: Jews have too much power in international financial markets
Jews have too much control/influence on Wall Street.
- Netherlands:  19% Answer probably true
- USA:             18% Answer probably true

Not all that much different, except that the Dutch somehow are antisemitic and the Americans are not.http://www.strategypage.com/CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/Images/emcrook.gif" align="absmiddle" border="0" alt="" />

A lot of these results would improve significantly if only Israel starts to do it's public relations competently. However Israel is in no hurry to do this. I really cannot understand why Israel refuses to embrace effective PR / propaganda when it's a life and death situation. I constantly see Israel paying a huge price for this neglect of PR.

Yes, at some point my European brothers will probably return to their bloodthirsty ways and the first to go up against the wall will be the Muslims.

And my fellow religious Christians will probably side with them.
