"Hamas had managed to about a thousand rockets in a week, with most of them hitting unoccupied areas, or being intercepted by Tamir missiles." should read "
Hamas had managed to launch about a thousand rockets in a week, with most of them hitting unoccupied areas, or being intercepted by Tamir missiles."
"
But the rockets appeared to be stored in small quantities all over the place." should read "Hamas protected the rockets by storing small quantities of rockets in multiple, dispersed locations." Something like that.
"
Thus it is possible Israel was facing the possibility of running out of Tamir missiles before Hamas ran out of long range rockets." should read "
Thus it was possible that Israel was facing the possibility of running out of Tamir missiles before Hamas ran out of long range rockets." The verbs in a sentence should stay in the same tense.

Only reason

Only reason Iron dome missile production was running dry is because the great Obomur, didn't allow the sale of the gyro's to Isreal and part and parcel of the "negotiation" was the resumption of said solid state gyro's for their missile production. Ah the smell of arm twisting politics... It wasn't until Romney visited Isreal that Obama's political aids quickly told him to allow said gyros to be sold so as to not get egg all over their face VERY publicly right before the election and Obama finally relented allowed the sale of the gyros/nav systems. IE Egg in that in order to apply political pressure on Isreal and keep them "toeing" the line we were holding defensive missile system components hostage...
Ah the smell of arm twisting politics...

Not that I doubt you, but can you provide a source to document this claim?
Still, it is the kind of short sighted fecklessness I have come to expect from this administration. Israel is undoubtedly in the process of finding or creating a second source for this component, and probably others equally susceptible to interruption. Won’t be the first time.

Source: not one on the internet if that is what you are asking about . Not exactly something that journalists write about. Would require way too much knowledge about how a real missile works along with a Giant tip off and who to contact etc.
My father worked for Honeywell(I don't, I work for Lazy B) who makes said solid state gyro used in said missile system and routinely talks gets together with friends still working there. I go mountain climbing with them as well. Everyone at Honeywell during the summer months knew this information that: Honeywell was told to halt selling gyro's(the real guts of JDAM, Tomahawk, Excalibur and all other guided missiles, shells, and bombs.)
It wasn't that many years ago that JDAM bombs were part of ITAR to the Isreali's or anyone else as well just to give some perspective. OF course someone pointed out to those in the State Department, that anyone can make a GPS guidance kit turning dummy bombs into JDAM with ho hum accelerometers(dime a dozen) and off the shelf RC Airplane gyro's sold at your hobby store... Missiles are another matter though, especially for the interceptor mode. Need vastly more accuracy compared to even A2A misiles or A2G or G2A. Excalibur requires even More accuracy in certain respects that is near impossible to build.
Fact is, Isreal's arms purchases are always being used for political arm twisting(JDAM bomb purchase was done so in the last Gaza incursion for instance), just seems to depend how uh, big and apparent said arm twisting is in the media.
