From today's Q & D Guide: Examination of destroyed terrorist camps indicates that the bin Laden organization was developing chemical and nuclear weapons. Interviews with local civilians revealed that dogs were taken and used as test subjects for chemical weapons. ---------- Anyone have any more info on this, or know where I could go to find some? Specifically, how close were they to having working models, or, if they already had any, how potent they were? Also, it says only chemical and nuclear ... does that mean that we haven't found biowarfare agents there yet? Thanks! --Phoenix Rising

The term R&D covers a lot of ground. I get the impression that MR Pedestal was looking seriously at the popular mechanics approach. Modern medical is costly and take some seriously specialised folks. If you look to the literature, it ain't lawnmower repair. I think the media has generated Satan Bug psycosis on 2/3rds of the planet. This goes double for mr nuke. Think of it this way, if the US claimed that the final test of it's Death Ray was a sucess, lots of folks would fill their shorts (depending on what end of it you nay be facing-treaty obs and all). Bottom line is -a little BS goes a long way. PS when I said look to the literature I meant the popular mechanics stuff. Didn't mean to seem edekated or nutin.
