Subject: India Counters Chinese A-Sat Weapon
Softwar    6/10/2008 11:12:30 AM
link India has set up a strategic space cell to protect Indian space assets from Chinese and other countries. The space cell is housed in the Integrated Defence services headquarters which acts as an integrated interface between armed forces, Department of Space and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Indian Defense Minister A K Antony provided the first hint that India is going on the offensive to counter the Chinese threat in the space. India has secretly developed a new class of heavy lift and small boosters and improved array of military space systems. It will not only knock out satellites of the adversary but also create a virtual shield for Indian space assets.
