The myth about superiority of US tanks, soldiers, army and ?all American? is the cornerstone of American patriotism. Especially for not so bright Americans like Santa. It?s useless to argue with them. They were brainwashed from the childhood, from the Rambo movies to the TV shows. They seriously believe that Soviet Union would be defeated by Germany if they wouldn?t land in Normandy. And those who was in the US army are brainwashed the most (except senior officers who must know reality to do their job).
The same goes about Abrams. This US propaganda has several goals:
1. The US soldiers would fight better if convinced of their equipment superiority.
2. The US population would approve huge military expenses.
3. The politicians of other countries would hopefully believe it and buy overpriced for its quality and often inferior military equipment.
4. US army is voluntary ? need good propaganda to get enough recruits.
Of course, there are military experts in USA, who know the truth, but they would go to jail or loose their jobs if post on this forum. For example, I work for Intel and it?s strictly forbidden for us to comment about Intel products on the forums. And it?s a civilian company!
