Scorpions certainly are still in production. A short search on the net produced a report dated April 2002 that Brunei had just taken delivery of the lates version. Quote follows: The S 2000 PEACEKEEPER - the latest version of the British Scorpion tank used by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces - has been officially recognised as the world's fastest tank. A CVR(T) Scorpion tank, upgraded to the latest Repaircraft PLC S 2000 PEACEKEEPER, clocked an average speed of 82.23kph/ 51.10 mph during a speed test timed by the UK police and MMST, and witnessed by officials from the Guinness Book of Records. The S 2000 PEACEKEEPER is the most modern version of the British CVR(T) Scorpion tank. The principal differences are that the S 2000 PEACEKEEPER has a Repaircraft/Steyr Model 2133 Diesel 3.2 Litre Turbocharged and Electronically Managed Engine, K10,000 Replaceable Rubber Pad Track, S 2000 Intelligent Electrical System, Explosion Suppressant Fuel tank, DGNS Image Intensifier Day/Night Vision Gun Sight and Applique Armour fitted as standard equipment.
