Subject: Help clearing up rumor of SABOT.

I need help clearing up a rumor I always see around. That rumor is that Depleted Uranium rounds (30mm and ADPS) penetrate a tank and suck out the occupants. I flat out disbelieve this, having been in the military for a few years, and would like to have some factual resources to disprove it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd recommend reading Arsenal of Democracy by Tom (?) Gervasi.... a nice description of the killing mechanism of armour-piercing ammunition.  Also, the first 20 or so pages of the novel 761 discuss the effects of AP ammunition on the human carapace.  AP and APFSDS kill via the fragmentation/incendiary effect of the round punching thru the armour envelope of the vehicle, they don't suck the crew out any holes.
