Uh, I hope the Arjun is better than it looks.
In all these videos, the gun looks unstabilized. Is it?
Why a rifled 120 mm? Where is the Indian Army going to find a secondary source of ammo after the Brits go smooth bore? Jordan maybe?

Not a bad first effort at all. Arjun II will build on what is learned from Arjun I.

One negative comment. Make sure your tank crews, especially your drivers, wear HELMETS. The chances of crew being killed by a simple jolt, driving that beast are way too high to NOT take simple precautions.

Thanks,

2 very interesting videos and I would say congratulations to India on finally accomplishing what not very many nations can claim to have done.  I have followed the Arjun "Saga" shall we say for several years.

I did see one thing which does concern me however.  In the first video at 8.07 there is a brief glimpse of two production personnel assembling components into the turret well and they are using "files" to make some of them fit!!!!  This tell me one of two things:

1 - Either a poor job was done of component tolerancing by the engineers/drafstmen.
2 - Quality control of component manufacturing is poor.

Number 2 can be fixed much more easily than 1 !!!!!   And trust me it needs to be fixed or there will be massive implications for production and in service maintenance.

But I know some Indian Engineers and am sure that regardles of how well Arjun performs or meets the Indian Armys requirements some major lessons have been learned and should stand the Indian Defence industry well in its next major project.
