Israel's rafael developement company has become the first to develope a working active-armour protection system. They have already developed a configuration for the israeli Mk3 and have a sales brochure to boot!

Have to say the Russians were first. As to who is second its hard to say has the Isreali system been deployed yet? If not then I think the race for second is still open with a whole pack of active defense systems being very close to entering service.

Dare i say oops? I am blushing from embarrassment. I didnt find anything on the next the mentioned a previous active armour system developed. My mistake. I am sure the IDF will be eager to install the system on thier armour corp, you can see from a picture in hte brochure that they have already designed an arrangement for the merkava mk 3. Does anyone have a link that talks about the russian active armour?
