Subject: Pentagon Ships Nuke Missile Parts To Taiwan Instead of Chopper Batteries
Softwar    3/25/2008 11:33:08 AM
link The Pentagon has admitted that it mistakenly sent four electrical fuses for Minuteman nose cone assemblies to Taiwan instead of helicopter batteries. The batteries were ordered by Taiwan as part of logistics support for U.S. made aircraft. The fuses, however, were manufacturedd for use on the U.S. strategic nuclear missile. U.S. officials assured various global governments, including Beijing, that the shipment was not a nuclear system and contained no radioactive materials. > > This reminds me of the problem we once faced when an accountant in the Army Department asked for a listing of parts sorted by part number. We found the U bolt for a Army truck muffler was listed right next to the nuclear warhead for the Pershing missile - a difference of one character on the order form. < <
