Patton once said "..the Russians have no regard for human life and they are all out son of bitches, barbarians and chronic drunks." That being said, Patton also had a lot of regrettable quotes. Great General for the time though.

Patton was the best Army general of his time. Germans realized that, while American command didn't. He was not diplomatic, and he said many things he shouldn't have. Despite his patrician upbringing... But as a general, he had no equals in the US Army.
