Hence Iran is a LOT more dangerous than Pakistan.

Then there is your military leadership . If your generals and admirals know what they are doing and maintain high standards for subordinates and concentrate on training and readiness for combat the forces at their disposal will be much more effective that when (as is often the case) the military is treated like a jobs program to keep unemployment low and, if there is a lot of corruption, make senior officers rich.

"Military budgets aren’t all they appear to be. While the United States alone accounts for over a third of the annual defense spending worldwide, this is not as overwhelming as it appears to be."

Even though the US spends 300% more on it's military than the next 10 biggest military spenders in the world *combined*?

No.

More money doesn't entail more protection either, if it's spent on the wrong things. The US military is finding no shortage of money to spend on developing the $1.5 Trillion F-35, but the aircraft it already has in service don't even have enough spare parts;

You don't know what you are talking about again. BT. The US readiness level is in three tiers. Things are not ideal at all, but compared to our enemies? We can go to war and KNOW we will be ready in war stocks in 30 days. Not even China can claim that, and those bunko artists have been trying to bluff the world they're ready to go for 20 years.
